Dr. Maria Katsamanis, horse trainer, clinician, exhibition rider, author, clinical psychology

I was fortunate to connect to Vassilios in none other than the Equus Film Festival held in New York City. Fellow organizers had mentioned that a fellow Greek was asked to present his art work and they wanted to make sure we met while I was also attending and presenting there.

My colleagues earlier had mentioned to me a fellow Greek artist with a love for horses and had circulated some images to me. And so you can imagine my honor in finally having met Vassilios live!  It is such a privilege to meet someone who has a genuine passion for the horse and through his art conveys the spirit and soul of this animal.  His art work connects so many people to see the horse through his eyes—-pure, clear and dignified.

The detail in his sketches shows the complexity and depth that he ascribes to the horse and in that way gives us a glimpse of the horse as a partner— a partner that has helped us build civilizations.  I am proud that Vassilios has this natural gift and through his art work can bring more friends to the horse. I am especially proud that we both are connected not only through country but for our deep love and respect for horses.
